Charmouth's village library has been under threat of closure for some time. However, Dorset County Council will now allow us to continue running the library with all its facilities after the current deadline for closure of September 2012.
The threat of closure has recently been alleviated by the recognition by the DCC of our efforts to keep the Library open using volunteers and raising monies from the Charmouth and district community (See the most recent Newsletter contents on the next page of this web site).

You will find in this web site pages where you can let us know how and where you can help. Volunteer your services in order to further our campaign, assist in the day to day running of the premises, bring people into the building by hiring it for your interest group/s, teach IT and other skills, read to small groups especially childrens' groups (with the necessary CPR certificate), organise fund raising events, etc.,etc..

www.lymeregis.tv are the lovely people responsible for the video opposite and are supporters of our endeavours to retain the library and took the video for us and also played at the event, as are Rathaspeck Services www.rathaspeck.co.uk who have provided for us, and who continue to manage this web site free of charge.

Please notify us of your interest through editor@charmouthvillagelibrary.org.uk and use the RSS facility for notification of any changes.
Thanks for looking!
